This session presents proactive communication strategies and tactics to help leaders align day-to-day activities with key business goals.

FACILITATING HIGH PERFORMANCE MEETINGS

Meetings are the most frequently used vehicles for exchanging information, solving problems and making decisions. Unfortunately, very few people are trained in conducting high performance meetings. This session is designed to encourage interaction among participants. Participants will learn and practice techniques for planning and conducting high performance meetings to maximize the investment of time and people. Particular attention is given to the "people side" of the meeting process. Topics such as - handling difficult people, facilitator interventions, active listening and questioning skills are presented and discussed.

Objectives:

• Understand the role of the meeting facilitator

• Learn the structure/process steps for planning and conducting high performance meetings

• Develop understanding of how to manage the "people side" of a meeting

• Increase confidence and comfort level when facilitating a meeting

LEADING SELF: IMPACT OF YOUR PERSONAL LEADERSHIP STYLE

Assessing leadership effectiveness starts with a focus on personal behavior styles. This session includes a self-assessment to identify specific behavioral characteristics. Participants will explore how his/her behavioral style impacts others, effects relationships and performance.

Outcomes:

• Respect, appreciate and value individual differences

• Understand potential impact styles have on vertical and horizontal communication

• Develop strategies for increasing personal leadership effectiveness
